In the world of photography editors, Alien Skin Exposure X2 might be the underdog, but should never be dismissed. The powerful photo editor that has a ton of presets to emulate almost every conceivable film out there, has been upgraded to the 2.7 version.
The free update (for previous owners) has new portrait touch up presets that "Will help you quickly refine your photos." According to the company.
These presets add several portrait retouching layers in a single mouse click and cover the fundamental touch ups that anybody will need.
- Skin Softening
- Iris enhance
- Teeth whitening
- Deemphasize background
- and red eye removal.
All these presets can be used as is or you can customize each setting to your liking.
Alien Skin also states that they have added new features to the layering engine that will make them easier to use.
Similarly, brushing pins now have the same Show options as Exposure’s Spot Healing tool, giving you more control of how brush pins appear onscreen.

New Import/Export Options
Also in this update are new enhancements to the import and export dialogs that help you speed up your work:
- New destination options enable you to select an action to perform when an Export completes. Choose from these options:
- Reveal in Finder
- Open With Application
- Open URL
- No Action
- Prompt fields in naming templates enable you to quickly name folders for each client or project when importing, exporting, or bulk renaming.
